In 2016, IWC gave the model a subtle redesign, returning to the very origins of the Big Pilot’s Watch. The IWC-manufactured 52110 calibre combines several remarkable feats of watchmaking. This movement features the highly efficient Pellaton automatic winding system, with some components made of black or white ceramic. Twin barrels allow for an impressive 7-day power reserve. The remaining power is shown on the display at 3 o’clock. The Big Pilot’s Watch also includes a date display at 6 o’clock and central seconds—essential for aviation. The 46 mm case, water-resistant to 6 bar, houses a soft-iron inner case that protects the movement from magnetic fields. Noteworthy details include the distinctive conical crown and the iconic Junkers JU-52 aircraft engraved on the case back. This model comes fitted with a black calfskin leather strap, perfectly matched to the watch.
