IWC introduced the Portofino collection in 1984, named after the idyllic Italian coastal village—a glamorous retreat for the international jet set during the 1950s and 1960s. Since then, Portofino watches have infused Mediterranean ease with a touch of glamour and elegance. The Portofino Automatic Moon Phase is the first Portofino watch to feature a 40 mm case with moon phase display. Until now, this popular complication was only available in 45 mm or 37 mm models. This watch features a classic stainless steel case. The silver moon harmonizes beautifully with the blue dial, as well as the rhodium-plated hands and markers. This effortlessly elegant timepiece is paired with a hand-painted black alligator leather strap.
